This is probably the best place for all those who enjoy a cozy drink in style outdoors in the winter. Dress up in your warmest clothes and just cuddle up on the ultra comfy sofas and chairs with a cashmere blanket on your lap - provided by the venue. I fell in love with the Winter Garden at Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane. I am just sorry I discovered it so late - they are closing end of February!!

I went there on a cool but crisp late afternoon in February.

The Winter Garden is utterly gorgeous, decked out in pretty pine trees and birch twigs. It has such a rustic feel, which is a contrast to the luxury feel of the restaurant, Amaranto.

The seating is comfy and spacious to snuggle up and get warm. They have super comfy cushions, soft blankets and sheepskin rugs…so you can just lie back and sip your hot chocolate!

 

…You can choose to sit in comfy shacks or garden style benches. They light us heaters for you anywhere you sit…

We went for the VIP Hennessy Lodge, of course!

The hot chocolate was heavenly. They also have cocktails and nibbles menu.

And following the hot chocolate we ordered delicious slider mini burgers with yummy chips. Perfect winter comfort food! The burgers are served in a brioche-like bun with a yummy house mayo (had tomatoes and other yummy ingredients).

With a chill setting in we adjourned to the restaurant bar inside (Amaranto). The restaurant lounge is also very pretty though the dark modern decor is a sharp contrast o the rustic decor of the Winter Garden. The service both inside and outside was impeccable!

We ordered dessert indoors which consisted of probably the best poached figs I ever had (though I wish it was a bigger portion!) and some heavenly pear martinis.

As we exited I couldn't help admiring the lovely lobby decorations of the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane.

Overal, I had a fantastic night and I loved it so much that I am taking hubby there next weekend for hot chocolates and sliders!

Style tips

I would recommend bundling up for this one. I wore several layers consisting of a Pepe Jeans t-shirt, Louis Vuitton cashmere blazer and Ted Baker cape coat. I also wore my extra warm rabbit fur Joseph scarf and long Chanel boots!

 

 

 

Six February Favourites

It has been such a long time since I did a beauty blog but since its February I thought I would share my favourite products for Valentine's Day!
I usually go for nudes or pale pinks but since we are in the month of Love, I have opted for Bright Red Lipstick! However, if your mouth will be so vibrant I would suggest to tone down or soften the rest of the face and select a heavenly seductive but floral fragrance. So I have selected the following products to complement my red lips:

1. Mac Oil Control Lotion
2. Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder
3. Guerlain Bronzer
4. Benefit They're Real Eye Liner
5. Giorgio Armani Rose d'Arabie fragrance
6. Last but not least Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Caprice

1. Mac oil Control Lotion

This is the perfect product to put under your makeup, especially if you have oily skin. Even if you don't, this keeps your face matt and the foundation fresh for hours. Despite being in a warm office all day, my face doesn't start "shining" anymore! It also helps to provide a smother finish to your foundation. I would highly recommend this!

 

2. Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder

 

 

This is probably one of the best buys of 2017 for me. I use creamy foundation so this powder not only adds a touch of matt but provides such a lovely subtle shine and contouring effect as well. Furthermore, it lasts all day which is always a plus.
To use it best, dampen a makeup sponge and apply it under your eyes down to the end of your nose and then blend it. For a very contoured look apply two layers and a dab on the tip of your nose. It will make you look flawless and glowing!

3. Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer

 

 

This is a must-have for any woman I think. The colours are different depths of dark and medium so do try them on properly but once you get your colour you will never use another bronzer. It provides warmth and depth to the face and it blends very well, softening the makeup underneath. Overall, amazing product to pair with your red lips.

4. Benefit They're Real Eye Liner

This is a very easy to apply eyeliner. The tip is an angled pen which allows you to determine how thick a line you want. This eyeliner pretty much lasts the whole day so you don't really need to refresh it. Just a thin line over the eyes provides a perfect natural eye look to go with red lips!

5. Giorgio Armani Rose d'Arabie fragrance

 

I cannot recommend a better fragrance for the month of Love - it really is love at first sniff. It is not a light flowery/rosy smell but a deep musky rose, reminiscent of desert nights and fragrant evenings - a Damascus rose. It is mixed with oud which adds further depth to the fragrance. This fragrance screams sensuality and passion and instantly transforms you to an Arabian Princess when you wear it.  Highly recommend it, especially on Valentine's!!

 

6. Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Caprice

 

 

 

So this is a typical 1920s style red lipstick which is very soft and  hydrating. It stays on very well and is long lasting. It is the absolute right shade of red - not too saucy and not to formal. You can wear it during the day and still look very stunning with very little makeup.

A lazy Sunday in Knightsbridge

I love sunny winter days - there is so much you can do
I decided to wrap up and go for a walk around Knightsbridge and South Kensington. It is amazing what pretty little houses are hidden in the back streets of these lovely areas.

So after starting at the Natural History Museum , probably the prettiest building in London, and walking all around Knightsbridge to Brompton Rd, we had lunch at Caffe Concerto on Brompton Rd, somewhat disappointing both in food and service.

However, a little trip to Harrods more than made up for it where I got some glitter shoes from Dior and some super tasty chocolates and ganache filled macaroons from La Maison du Chocolat. I absolutely love their chocolates. The ganache they make  is second to no other chocolatier in London. I would highly recommend the following flavours: Zagora (dark chocolate + mint); Salvador (with raspberry); Quito (pure dark chocolate) and my all time favourite Caracas (super intense dark chocolate). For the macaroons (they are all filled with dark chocolate ganache - I recommend Salvador (raspberry); Lychees macaroon and the apple and caramel. I was in heaven!

For my little lazy afternoon I wore a Zara wool top and paired it with Zara black jeans. I carried the casual and convenient Fendi du jour bag and paired it with my very comfy Gucci boots. Of course, I wrapped up in my Burberry boat and my very warm Fatface snood!
