The Oakley Court, Windsor

The Oakley Court, Windsor

My husband and I visited here for my birthday and we were very impressed. We spent a lovely weekend there so I. It was a very relaxing and beautiful night away in the Berkshire area.

We arrived to a glass of prosecco at check in, a lovely touch!

The Oakley Court Hotel is like a big country house and the staff  are very courteous, welcoming and helpful, which makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The décor is a real amalgamation of old and new, country and modern and we really had fun finding different bits hidden around the hotel.

Amongst the treasures in the library, I found a beautiful book on Victorian Nursery and read the lovely poem below which I just have to share! I also found a Rudyard Kipling collection of Jungle Book stories in beautiful red binding! You can seriously spend a whole day in that library!

The décor in the rooms at The Oakley Court Hotel is a little dated for my liking! However, the rooms are decent sized and very clean. They have some lovely products from The White Company for your use - I specially recommend the body cream.

The bed was very comfy and we both slept really well. The TV has a good selection of channels and though there’s no mini bar.

The ground and views from the lawn out to the Thames are beyond amazing. The gardens themselves are reminiscent of Monet's gardens in Giverny. I really felt like I was walking inside a painting!!

The food in the bar and he breakfast was excellent and the drinks on the terrace outside were very nice.

Right on the Thames with deck chairs on the grass, you can spend all day watching the boats and swans go by. The hotel has such a relaxed atmosphere and we felt incredibly chilled.

The only let-down was the spa which is more of a gym than a relaxing spa so I hope they refurbish it.

Overall though, it was a brilliant stay and I will definitely go back!
